If people with disabilities cannot use your website, you are losing customers, and you may be exposed to legal claims. Many US businesses learn about website accessibility only after they receive a demand letter. Others hear that a plugin or overlay will “make the site compliant,” pay for it, and later find out it did not.
Our ADA website compliance service is for businesses that want their WordPress site to actually work for everyone. We fix the real problems in your theme, plugins and content so that people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control or magnification can find information and complete tasks.
The ADA itself does not list technical rules for websites. In practice, the standard used is the WCAG, published by the W3C. We work to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the current version. The Department of Justice has published guidance on web accessibility and the ADA that explains its position. This page is general information, not legal advice. Please talk to a lawyer about your specific situation.
What’s included
- An accessibility audit of your key templates and user flows, or a review of an audit you already have.
- Theme fixes, such as color contrast, visible focus states, heading order, skip links and keyboard navigation.
- Form fixes, including labels, error messages and required-field cues. This matters a lot for Gravity Forms and similar plugins.
- Plugin fixes or replacements for sliders, menus, popups and other components that cannot be made accessible.
- Content fixes, such as alternative text for images, link text, captions for video and accessible PDFs where needed.
- An accessibility statement you can publish on your site.
- Regression checks so new content and updates do not bring the errors back.
How it works
- Assess. We test your site with automated tools, a keyboard and screen readers, and list every issue against WCAG 2.2.
- Quote. We give you a fixed price for the fixes, grouped by priority.
- Fix. We remediate the code on a staging copy, starting with the issues that block users from completing key tasks.
- Verify. We retest each fix manually and with automated checks before it goes live.
- Train and monitor. We show your team how to keep new content accessible, and add automated accessibility checks to future updates.
Our ADA compliance guide for WordPress sites explains the background in more detail, and our article on why accessibility overlays do not make you compliant covers the widget question.
What you get
- A WordPress site with WCAG 2.2 AA issues fixed in the code, not hidden behind a widget.
- A before-and-after report showing what was found and what was fixed.
- An accessibility statement and a simple process for reporting barriers.
- Guidance for your content team on writing accessible pages and posts.
- An error count that we track over time, with the goal of keeping it at zero.
Why Verma IT
We treat accessibility errors as one of the six measures of technical debt. They can be counted, so we count them, fix them and keep tracking them. That turns “are we compliant?” into a number you can watch go down.
Our founder, Ajay Verma, is a WordPress core contributor and worked in support at Gravity Forms, so we understand both WordPress internals and the forms that so many accessibility complaints involve. We also run automated browser tests with Playwright, which lets us check pages after every update instead of only once.
If you want to know where you stand before committing to fixes, start with an accessibility audit.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the ADA apply to websites?
- The U.S. Department of Justice has said that the ADA applies to the websites of businesses open to the public. For state and local governments, a 2024 rule sets WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard. This is general information, not legal advice.
- Which WCAG version should my site meet?
- We recommend WCAG 2.2 Level AA. It is the current version and includes everything in WCAG 2.1, so meeting it also covers 2.1 AA.
- Will an accessibility overlay or widget make my site compliant?
- No. Overlays do not fix the underlying code, and many users with disabilities find them harder to use. Real compliance comes from fixing the theme, plugins and content.
- How long does ADA remediation take?
- It depends on the size of the site and how many issues the audit finds. Small sites can take a few weeks. Larger sites are usually done in phases, starting with the most-used pages.
- How much does ADA website compliance cost?
- We start with an audit or assessment, then give you a fixed quote for the fixes. You will know the scope and the price before work begins.
